SNYDERGLAS Rebuild

In this issue I am featuring the rebuild of an old Synder blank as rebuilding and renovating old favourite rods is something I do quite a bit of now and I also get a lot of enquiries about. We’ve kept the traditional thread colours but added modern heat shrink, new Fuji K Series anti-tangle frame guides and camo grips.

As you know late last year, I became the distributor for RODgeeks blanks in Australia, starting with the surf blanks. I’ve had a lot of interest in the 13’ surf blanks and am pleased to let you know we’ve sorted out the shipping issues and I’m now able to bring these longer blanks into Australia. RODgeeks blanks are all made to order – they don’t keep inventories in warehouses – so keep that in mind when you are planning your next custom rod build and leave about 4 weeks lead time for orders.

Fuji have just released a new slim silicon ring guide as part of their K-series flagship collection. Rod builders are using K-Series guides for their tangle-free operation, incredible frame strength, superb ring retention and striking good looks. The Gunmetal Slim SiC Ring Guides suit both spinning and casting applications. The new Slim Silicon ring material will give you all the advantages of a Silicon Ring but has a larger internal diameter (ID) compared to the standard ring of the same size, so it provides greater knot clearance for bulky knots to shoot through.
